Stop Lying to Yourself

Self-deception is the purposeful action to avoid the truth about oneself or the world. It occurs gradually as one’s knowledge of the truth erodes over time because one has chosen not to reflect on one’s own life as a whole. Paul exhorts the Corinthians to stop lying to themselves. We need to be reminded of the same thing. Don’t lie to yourself. Ask yourself the question—Am I becoming a fool for Jesus? Am I elevating someone or something above Jesus? Am I living like a child of the King?
